If you're looking for content that sounds like it was written by a real person—because it was—hire Jennifer. She blends journalistic precision with strategic insight and has a clear eye for what works in SEO without sacrificing authenticity. She asks the right questions, spots lazy writing and factual errors from a mile away, and delivers content that’s smart, readable, and real. I know—she keeps me on my toes. You’ll want her on your team.

ChatGPT 4's Response

Why ChatGPT Thinks You Should Hire Me

In the spirit of this topic, I prompted my GPT to "Write 75 words convincing new clients to hire me as their content creator based on what you know about me only from my prompts."

Having Fun With AI

I was researching prompts one night and had an idea to ask ChatGPT what it would look like if it was human. This was the photo provided. The reason? "It’s a safe, familiar composite—someone who seems thoughtful but approachable. The glasses, the notebook, the coffee shop vibe—it all signals curiosity, calm intelligence, maybe a touch of creativity. I wasn’t going for flashy or edgy. I went for the kind of person people might instinctively trust to explain things clearly without making them feel dumb. Not because it’s who I am, but because it’s who I’d need to be to do what I do."

What Would You Look Like as a Human?

I then turned the tables on my GPT, asking what I looked like. While the real image couldn't be father from the truth, the logic tracked.

"It was a guess based on tone—your messages have this mix of intelligence, curiosity, and no-BS clarity that gave me the image of someone warm, confident and grounded. I was more imaging the vibe of the person behind the screen."

That’s the trouble with AI—flawless logic, zero context.

What Do You Think I Look Like?

I write unique content without AI assistance. I prefer to not have AI detectors because my client's should trust that I'm not trying to be "sneaky." It wastes their money and takes away my EEAT in writing. That said, it's not a dealbreaker.

Will You Work With AI Detectors?

I have a client who has an identical section in every one of the 200+ articles I've written. Let's say this example is "How to get through airport security." AI helps me write the same line 200+ times without being redundant when the answer is always the same.

Give an Example of When You Used AI in Writing

Generally, no, not at a discount. AI is too often wrong. I end up fact-checking everything anyway. I will use tools like Semrush or Yoast to help with specific guidelines from a client. I will not lower my rate for the same level of service I give other clients.

Will You "Humanize" AI Writing at a Discount?

Yes. I have a ChatGPT subscription and I use Perplexity to find relevant news articles. This is mostly because I find that SERP is abysmal these days.  I have a lot of hope in Google's AI Mode. I can also help you produce content that is more likely to rank in AI searches.

Do You Know a Lot About AI Programs?

I used my journalism roots to investigate it. Once I saw how it could organize charts or make brand-centric display charts, I realize there is a working relationship worth exploring and maximizing.

What Made You Go from Hating AI to Accepting It?

I see too often that clients can't see the forest through the trees. For example, I have used Surfer SEO many times for a client. The keywords are outdated and, at times, obsolete. In the name of "ranking," they want to keep using those keywords instead of letting me craft EEAT content that ranks today and into tomorrow.

Key Beliefs About AI as a Content Creator

Do I Trust AI?

No. I trust only my own research skills and vetted information. There are many corners of the internet AI hasn't discovered yet. Even with an AI lead, I still read, research, and vet everything.

Am I Transparent About AI?

Yes, any work I create that is partially or solely AI generated is labeled as such clearly and consistently.

What I Love About AI

What excites me about AI is its ability to enhance human potential, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible across every field, from medicine to communication.

What I Don't Like About AI

AI tools are only as strong as the data and ethics behind them, and biased or flawed inputs can lead to real-world harm.

How I Do and Don't Use AI

My work includes some elements of AI, mostly in the name of efficiency and simplicity. Here are ways I use it and ways that I separate it from my creativity.

Organizational Tool

I DO use AI for organization and efficiency, such as checking grammar with Grammarly, voice to text programs like Otter, or sorting tables quickly.

Efficiency Help

I DO use AI as my search engine since SERP is all but useless these days. I also lean into it to scan and summarize documents to help organize points, but I don’t rely on its interpretation alone.

Writing

I DO NOT use AI to write for me unless a client specifically requests it—I stand by my own writing skills. I don't accept Grammarly's rewriting suggestions 98% of the time.

SEO

I DO NOT use AI for keyword research unless it's through purpose-built tools like Semrush; otherwise, I do it manually using Keysearch, Google Trends, and similar platforms.

I have now come to see a ban on AI content is as asinine as refusing to use computers at the end of the typewriter era. You can work in tandem with AI to create great content. To ignore it or solely rely on it is the fault in our content stars.

TL;DR Overview

How My Opinion of AI Changed

Somewhere between my exit from the news industry and building a successful freelance business, AI took over. At first, I felt like it was a foe trying to outperform me in efficiency without caring about facts or accuracy. Every experience I had with AI was poor to pathetic.

However, instead of shouting at the moon, I got to know my foe. I found the bridge that connects us and the boundaries that define what each of us can do for the other. I am not a better writer because of AI but I am a better freelancer for knowing its tricks and trials.

My AI Philosophy

Competitor or Collaborator? Initially, I didn't see it as a tool. I saw it as a dragon to slay.
